SNOW DAY! The storm really did appear last night and the boys were very thankful when they found out there was going to be no school. My friend Stephanie came over and she and I did our Bible Study homework on the kitchen table while the boys filled their day with Wii games, indoor b-ball, nerf guns and the movie Space Jam.
Zach was thankful for sleeping in, being able to go to Brennon's house and then, "the cherry on top" was the phone call and e-mail of No School for Tuesday either. Talk about a Thankful heart! Oh, and Zach then got back in the car and headed back to Brennon's house to spend the night. "And mom, it's on a school night kinda!" The news of no school for Tuesday didn't come until after Will and Drew were in bed, so they didn't have quite the same euphoria. :)
The devotional was about Trust and Thankfulness and how when we concentrate on those things, we don't have time for the "sister sins" of worry and complaining. Trust combats worry and Thankfulness eliminates complaining.
My friendship with Stephanie is the thing I took the time to be thankful for today. I love the gift from God of her friendship and how I have been so encouraged by her growth of Trust in her Savior. Stephane you are Beautiful: inside and out.
