Long Division

Zach had 38 -yes 38- long division problems tonight for homework.  Poor guy.  Last week was the first week of long division and he missed Monday's lesson of "remainders" so needless to say tonight's homework assignment came with serious frustrations.  Even as a math major I remember hating long division problems and actually have memories of crying and being so frustrated with my dad, trying to get it right.

In my devotional today it talked about giving God your heart and not just religious "stuff" we do.  Having the right heart means we actually Change our Life.

Zach started out with a plethora of sighs, whining, frustrated erase marks, broken pencil led, the head in the hand and of course the "I hate this" more than once.   Ted came home for like 5 minutes before he had to go to conferences, and during that time was able to help Zach make a change.  It wasn't just the surface change that doesn't really mean much, but Zach really did change his attitude and honestly let me help him figure it out.

Lord help me to lay down my pride more often and be humble enough to stop wholeheartedly my sinful ways and decide to honestly let You help me figure out what You want from me.
