Getting the Glory
March Madness started tonight. Zach did a great job (so did Will but I wasn't able to attend his game tonight). He got 3 baskets, and more importantly he was a team player on and off the court. I was very proud of him that he wasn't too shy, and sat right down with the kids and talked to them and genuinely had a great time -despite not knowing any of the other 9 boys or coach.
Getting the Glory and Sports -clearly it happens all the time. I saw a lot of it watching 7, 8 & 9 year olds play. The thing about God that so struck me this morning as I read my devotional, is that God, who is the ONLY one who truly deserves any and all glory, chooses to share His glory. Glory is His. Seriously, any Glory that exists, belongs to God. But He, in His "Upsidedown Kingdom" way, accomplishes His purposes through us. He shares His glory with us! And we, in our selfish way, so often think it was us - that we deserved that glory. We show off in the end-zone all the time.
We have all heard the saying "if you want to get anything done right you should do it yourself". Amazingly, the One that could actually say that for real, and could actually do it all perfectly and in perfect timing....... doesn't say that at all. In fact, He lets imperfect, sinner, selfish humans help Him in accomplishing His purposes.
THAT is Crazy Love.
(hopefully we remember to turn around and give Him the credit and all the Glory)
PS Happy Birthday Melissa
