The Day God Authored for us to Drive Home

Drew and Zach wrestling in the car when we were taking a break.  We (me included) were sneaking "sweet and delicious kisses" from each other.  They, of course, were escaping my kisses and then Drew was escaping Zach's.

My devotional was about how God made our day for us, and that we are to rejoice in it, and to be ready to receive all that He is pouring out into our lives in this brief portion we call a 24hr day.  How we are to be careful not to complain, as He is the Author of our circumstances.

This morning was raining in Ohio.  I was thankful for the gym at the hotel, and the boys were thankful for a couple more hours in the pool.  We had a nice breakfast with Ted's parents before they left for home and then we packed up and started our 5 hours in the car.  Zach kept declaring what time it was in "school time".... that right now Cole and Brennon are in computers, etc..... he was ultra thankful he was in the car and not at school.  He was even thankful that we drove into town just in time for him to make his Soccer practice.

I was really the most thankful for the time that Ted and I took to actually talk.  There's nothing like a death and a Memorial to make you take stock of your life.  If we turned the music up, we heard less of the commotion in the back and we had a nice chunck of time where we kinda had a great date going on.  Ted was driving (and therefor got to choose the radio station) and gave me the gift of tuning it to MY station.  Just that simple act almost made me cry.  I really love that man.

Thank you Lord for the day you gave us, and the circumstances you authored to give us that time as a family.

PS   Happy Birthday Rachel!
